Cowboys Hoping To Make Super Bowl Run

The Cowboys finished the 2019 season with an 8-8 record, which was good for second place in the NFC East. They missed out on the playoffs for the second time in three years, which cost head coach Jason Garret his job.

They hired former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and are hoping the Super Bowl-winning coach can lead them to their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1995 season.

Dallas played well offensively last season, averaging 27.1 points per game. Quarterback Dak Prescott had a breakout year, throwing for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 1,357 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup each had over 1,100 receiving yards.

Defensively, the Cowboys also played well, giving up 20.1 points per game. They gave up 21 points to the Rams when they met last season and will need to play well on the defensive end if they want to get past them again on Sunday.

Rams Hoping To Have Bounce Back Season

The Rams followed up their trip to the Super Bowl in 2018 with a 9-7 record last season, which wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs. Even though they will face stiff competition from the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West this season, the Rams believe they have enough talent to make it to the playoffs this season.

Offensively, Los Angeles averaged 24.6 points per game. Quarterback Jared Goff threw for 4,638 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. Todd Gurley II led the team in rushing with 857 yards and 12 touchdowns, but they released him in the offseason and drafted Cam Akers to replace him.

Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods had over 1,100 receiving yards for the Rams. They traded away Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans and will be looking at Josh Reynolds to get more touches in the passing game.

Defensively, Los Angeles struggled last season, giving up 22.8 points per game. They lost Dante Fowler Jr., Eric Weddle, and Aqib Talib, but couldn’t make any splashy moves in free agency and will need other players to step up and fill the void left by those players if they want to get the win.
